2010 – Innovate Buffalo Niagara Awards

“Steps”, Sonwil's innovative submission at the Buffalo Niagara Award. The goal of Steps was to ensure that Sonwil Distribution Center could guarantee the highest level of quality in the services produced by their value added services team while responding to the growing demands for process control and data collection.

Sonwil’s business model for providing these services required that they create a system that would manage a tailored process flow for each of their clients’ unique products. The essential goals they sought to achieve were to;

1. Ensure that Sonwil creates a program that achieves the unique requirements of each client’s quality control process
2. Provide a management component to assure employee performance can be managed and allow the best balance between quality and productivity
3. Offer detailed tracking of activities during the process to include billing details, inventory usage and historical data
4. Establish a framework that allows Sonwil to respond rapidly to evolving client requirements
5. Include real-time data such as build-to-order and fix-as-requested services

Next “Steps”
Sonwil is currently proposing the use of “Steps” technology for projects that require creating highly specialized and detailed kits. Modeled after technology used in call centers, “Steps” also offers a suite of productivity tools and real-time workforce monitoring dashboards and reports. Future releases may also bring with them the ability to have content that is multilingual.
